Before installing the carpet, make sure that the substrate is flat and clean.
Start by cleaning the area by sweeping or vacuuming away sand and other dirt.
Depending on the quantity, you can get the carpets in rolls or sheets. The shipment always comes with a dimensioned picture, so you can check how the carpet will be assembled and that the picture matches the dimensions of the windscreen. The sheets/rolls are numbered, so it’s easy to put them in place by following the measurement picture.
Place the carpet on the surface facing the right way up, so that the water grooves at the bottom of the carpet are against the floor surface. If necessary, use a hammer to join the seams of the mats.
A little bit of buffer is added at the factory to make the carpet snug. If the carpet needs further shaping, it can easily be done with straight-edged pruning shears, for example.
When the carpet is ready, step on the carpet to get it to settle in place.
Cleaning instructions
Regular cleaning of the carpet and windscreen will ensure long-lasting use of the carpet.
Plastic-sheathed carpets are designed to collect dirt, dust and sand. The most effective way to clean them is to use a vacuum cleaner. Vacuum in every direction across the carpet.
For more thorough cleaning, it’s easy to roll the carpet in half. This allows you to sweep and vacuum up the dirt that has accumulated under the carpet. Repeat on the other side so you don’t have to carry the carpet away.
Heavy dirt can be removed with a pressure washer using a mild detergent or just water. It is a good idea to make sure that the carpet is completely dry before putting it back in place.
